PupSG (“we”, “us”) runs pupsg.com, a Singapore-based website with dog training and walking guides. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
What we collect
- Email sign-ups. When you ask for our free checklist or join our email list, we collect your email address, the page you signed up on, and the date and time.
- Comments. When you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, your comment, your IP address and your browser details, so we can display the comment and filter spam.
- Messages. If you contact us, we keep your message and the contact details you give us so we can reply.
- Usage data. When you browse the site, our analytics tools collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the site that referred you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city or country). This is collected using cookies and similar technologies.
How we use it
- To send you the checklist and the emails you signed up for, such as new training and walking guides.
- To reply to your messages and show and moderate comments.
- To understand which guides are useful and improve the site.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We only collect what we need for these purposes, and we do not sell your personal data.
Your consent and how to withdraw it
By signing up, commenting or contacting us, you agree to us using your personal data as described here. You can change your mind at any time:
- Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
- You can ask us to delete your comments or stop using your personal data by contacting us (see below).
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run the site. They process personal data on our behalf and only for the purposes above:
- Encharge: email list and email delivery.
- Google Analytics (Google): website statistics.
- Usermaven: website statistics.
- Google Fonts (Google): loading the fonts used on the site, which shares your IP address with Google.
- Gravatar (Automattic): showing profile pictures next to comments, based on a scrambled version of your email address.
- Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its data.
We may also disclose personal data if the law requires it.
Transfers outside Singapore
Some of our service providers store data outside Singapore, for example in the United States or the European Union. When this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your personal data receives a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use:
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics (such as
_ga) and Usermaven, to count visits and see how the site is used. - Comment cookies from WordPress, if you choose to have your name and email remembered for next time.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading the site.
How long we keep it
- Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details.
- Comments: for as long as the comment is published, unless you ask us to remove it.
- Messages: for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.
- Analytics data: for the period set in each analytics tool, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
We delete or anonymise personal data once we no longer need it.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable security measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and limited access to our accounts. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it has been used;
- correct personal data that is wrong or incomplete;
- stop using your personal data or delete it.
We will reply as soon as reasonably possible, and normally within 30 days.
Children
PupSG is written for adult dog owners. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their details, please contact us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
